Serra do Caramulo

Located almost halfway between Serra da Estrela and Aveiro, Caramulo has a wonderful view. On a clear day you can see the Atlantic and Serra da Estrela. It was a bit cloudy, but you can make out Serra da Estrela in the distance.

Apparently some people didn't get "high" enough :P
You can see Serra da Estrela well here.
I went to the Museum in Caramulo- they have a Picasso and Dali there, and a transportation museum also. These handsome chaps caught my eye.
The museum was having a WW2 propaganda exhibit. Posters from France, USA, England, Russia, Germany. I really enjoyed this exhibit. I thought of my dad when I took the shot of this poster. That's his motto  on tool care whether its war time or not!

I've got a Monopoly on crustless bread!

Not central heating, but sure is nice to relax next to at night.

Found this game of Monopoly in the house, which I have NEVER seen before...the names of the streets are pretty amusing- no Park Avenue in this version!

Ha! (I know this will amuse my Mini-Cooper amigas)

No snow here.

Lisbon Oriente Station (Estacao do Oriente)

Cantar as Janeiras- This is a tradition of going door to door "carrolling", that was originally done in the first week of January to celebrate Jesus' birth and the New Year...now it's done all month long! This is the view over the gate.

It's not all sunshine...Mouse poop. An intensive cleansing was done in the kitchen.
This is the view of the interior yard taken from a window in the house.

Posted by Picasa                                             Now this is more like it...Aveiro delicacies.
Hope you all enjoyed the first round of photos...many more to come!!
